From an e-mail from a friend, it's a little dated, but none the more relevant: It’s beyond passing the Kool-Aid; it’s time to wind the Cuckoo-Cuckoo clock! I saw this coming . . . more

About Me
-
People say I'm:
-
Describe Yourself:It's always been difficult for me to describe myself and in that way I am very much a Gemini. I want to center myself, be less of a chameleon, and less of what people expect me to be. I want to be more authentic and well defined in some ways and more of an enigma in others.
-
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:nothing in particular. Friends and a creative outlet.
Interests
-
Lately I've been listening to:
-
I'm currently reading:
-
The last movie I watched was:
-
My must-see show is:
-
I'd love to visit:
-
I'm curious about:
-
Topping my Wish List is:
-
Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:
-
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:I love books! No particular genre, best sellers, classic literature, fiction, non-fiction, historical, biographic but no comic books, graphic novels and no sci-fi. Mostly I like books that Oprah suggests. It may seem shallow, but she picks great books that (mostly) I love. Favorite authors include John Grisham, Toni Morrison, Wally Lamb, and Alice Walker and many more.
-
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:Again, it's probably easier to say what I don't like: Horror and sci-fi. But pretty much everything else is in the running. I'm so excited about the Oscars tonight! All time favorite movie: Wizard of Oz. Guilty pleasure movie: Pretty Woman. Seen the most: Sleepless in Seattle. Most romantic: Out of Africa. Makes me cry every time: Philadelphia. Laughed the most: The Man Who Sued God.
-
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:Eh! I'd love to be able to turn up my nose and say I don't watch to tube, but the truth is I do. Too much. What I don't like: reality shows, most sit coms, sports. What I'm really, really tired of: entertainment that poses as news, and Law and Order. Likes: ER (sniff), Grey's Anatomy, Big Bang Theory (hysterical), Life on Mars (a blast from my past) and Bill Moyer's Journal.
-
Favorite Places:I'm not a world traveler so most of my favorite places are close to home: San Juan Islands in Puget Sound, British Columbia, Montana in the summer, Hawaii in the winter, the beach anytime and the mountains in the spring. Luckily I live near the beach and the mountains. Lack of (financial) resources keep me from traveling to small magical places in the world. Sunny tropical locales would be nice for respite, but my heart lives in the mountains.
-
Interests and Activities:I'm trying to expand my interests beyond reading and gardening and find other things with which to define myself. I like dogs, bird watching (hard to do with dogs), walking, photography (neophyte), and the arts. I want to try biking again, drawing, living each day to its fullest. I want to be fully present in the now, and less fearful of the future. My activities don't include sports or games. I used to be a jock, but those days are gone and I'm not sorry. I don't play many games because I don't like rules. I wan to learn to meditate and do yoga.
-
Wish List:
-
Refining my interests:reading, writing, spirituality, people, dogs, art, birds, psychology, movies, books, change, exploration, adventures, photography

Sandra H., Oct 12, 2009, 8:06AM EDTGood morning, GayLynn! Just stopping by to let you know that we finally got the tulips planted last Friday. My son helped me and we got them in a nice sunny spot in the backyard. I can't wait to see what pops up in the Spring! Thank you again for sending them to me!......Not much new here, just lots of doctor's appointments for Stacey this month. She goes to see her neuro-psychiatrist on Thursday for a routine medication management appointment.......We are having much cooler weather. I haven't turned the heat on yet but am thinking it will happen tonight or tomorrow.......Enjoy your week!......take care.......hugs, Sandy

Andy Harold, Sep 25, 2009, 3:15PM EDTMany thanks for the warm welcome. I see that we are on the same wavelength regarding America's social and political ills. I am trying to think of an effective way to collect the true horror stories of health care denied, and to present those stories to the powers-that-be, and the general public.

APE 131313, Sep 10, 2009, 8:23AM EDTSomebody started a GOOGLE Bomb on Beck.......start a rumor and have millions of people link to it so that when someone types his name in Yikes.....................kinda giving him a taste of his own medicine. It doesn't actually SAY anything just insinuates and asks questions, ya know just what the GOP does to the Libs. It spread like wildfire on the net in just a few days.....awesome power if the web.......for good and evil! His lawyers are going nuts over it tho!

Sandra H., Aug 31, 2009, 4:34PM EDTGood afternoon, GayLynn! Just stopping by to see how your doing? How was your first week back to work? I hope all went well and everything is going terrific for you!......We are having really cool weather today, it's 69 right now....a nice change from the 90's and I am loving every minute of it. Of course, I'll be complaning if it stays this way and we don't get a few more warm days! ;) .......I am hoping to get my son's room cleaned this week. I want to rearrange the furniture and put up some new curtains. We'll see how ambitious I am and if I actually get it done!......Have a great day my friend!......take care......hugs, Sandy
